We are excited to be running the KOSC Haunted House at Lions Hall tomorrow (Tuesday, October 24th)! Here is a rough schedule and some additional information.
The Haunted House will be running from roughly 4:00-5:00pm. We will be taking the children through the Haunted House in groups, spacing them out every 10-15 minutes to avoid overcrowding. Our plan is to take the children from Lower Building (Ocean, Jungle, Forest, and Mountain Rooms) during the earlier part of the afternoon, with the DRC groups (Desert, Arctic Rooms) towards the end. It is hard for us to give exact times for when each group will be starting and finishing their tour of the Haunted House as some may take a longer or shorter time.
Each group will leave the Ecole Keating Elementary school site approximately 10-15 minutes before their tour to allow sufficient time to arrive at Lions Hall. Leaders will be enforcing proper safety precautions, including road crossings when necessary, and will review safe practices with the children prior to leaving KOSC.
Parents of children who are not attending KOSC on Tuesday afternoon may bring children to the Haunted House — we will slot you into the next available tour. The address is 6994 East Saanich Road. Any child who is not registered for a space at KOSC must have a parent or other adult present on site for the duration of the tour.
We strongly encourage parents to time their pick-ups so that children are being signed out at their usual location if it is at all possible for you to do so. Children should be back at KOSC no later than 5:15pm, so if you usually pick your children up earlier in the afternoon, consider this a perfect reason to grab a cup of coffee and take some time to yourself — as a parent myself, I know that I treasure such opportunities. 🙂
That being said, we understand that schedules can be tight and a later pick-up may not be an option, so we will have a sign-out sheet available at the Lions Hall if you need to pick your child up from that location. If this is the case, we ask that you please ensure that you are not only signing out your child, but also touching base with one of our leaders to avoid any possible confusion as to which children are still signed in to KOSC care.
