SD63 and KOSC are closed again on Wednesday February 13th due to unsafe road conditions.
School District 63 has announced that all schools will be closed again tomorrow (Tuesday February 12th). As such, KOSC will not be opening.
Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying this crazy winter weather!
Due to unsafe driving conditions, Saanich schools are closed today. As such, KOSC will also be closed for the day. Stay warm out there!
Because Keating has remained open today, KOSC will also be open for After School Care. However, due to the continuing snowfall and the wind warning in effect, we would like to request that parents pick up their children as early as possible today to ensure that staff are able to travel home safely before road conditions potentially become dangerous.
If your child ordinarily attends KOSC on Friday afternoon and you will be picking up directly from school, please call or email to let us know that they will be away.
Stay warm out there!
Hope you are staying warm during this cold, snowy weather! Here is the newsletter for February.
Please also check out our calendar of After School Care activities for the month.
Please check out our Spring Break Camp calendar and information here! Registration starts on February 8th at 7am.
As you know, we are currently in the middle of an expansion to our centre that will allow us to accommodate 65 additional out-of-school care spaces in September 2019. This process is largely handled by a dedicated Project Manager in coordination with School District 63, the District of Central Saanich, the manufacturer of the portables, and so forth.
The KOSC Board of Directors has struck up a Facilities Committee in order to keep the Board up to date on any developments and progress with the project. They are currently looking for someone to take on the role of Chair for the Facilities Committee. The time commitment and required level of involvement would likely be quite small (a couple hours a month) between now and the completion of the expansion project in September 2019. You do not have to join the Board of Directors in order to serve on the committee.
The Board is also looking for someone with an interest in joining the Board and taking on the role of Treasurer in the coming year. The Treasurer works in coordination with the Program Manager, the KOSC accountant, and the Board to create and track the budget, as well as providing monthly reporting on revenue and expenses. Experience working with finances is an asset, but training is provided.
If you are interested in taking on either of these roles, please contact me and I will pass along your contact information to our Board President, Liana Tupper.
